Hi,
Do you have more than one tape device in the Library. If you Storage Unit is
configured with more than 1 drive, NetBackup will not wait for the first tape
to be full (when used by a job) to use a second tape on the second drive (for
another job).
If this is the Case, configure another Storage Unit with # of drive = 1; modify
your class schedule to use the new create Storage Unit. All jobs will then be
queued and only one at a time will be active, using the same tape until it gets
full.

Daniel

Check out the "Allow multiple retensions" capability.

hi,
I have a pool if 10 tapes which is configured for full backup. This backup
only requires 2 tapes, however, if there are 10 tapes in the library it will
use about 4 tapes.

How can i force NB3.4 to continue appending data on those tapes which still
have free space before moving on the other new tapes ? thanks
