We have NBU 4.5 MP3 on Solaris Master. We have several Windows NT clients
who are also Media Servers. We have Shared Storage Option using DL7000 tape
drives in L700 robot.

All of the NT media servers have lost their drives, through the SAN, in the
robot. The media server for the robot is the Solaris Master. Solaris and
Oracle backups run fine. Backups running over the Network run fine. However,
no NT backups using the NT media servers will run through the SAN.

The vmoprcmd -d ds -h "NT_media_server_name" command says "The Media Manager
device daemon (ltid) is not active on host..." and it says that for all NT
Media Servers. When the Windows Admin trys to restart the Media Manager, he
gets an error message "ltid is inactive"...."can't scan host"....then he
sees "illegal host" error messages. It seems like the Shared Storage DB is
messed-up or something. This is the second time this week this has happened.
The first time was resolved by restarting the daemons on all the NT media
servers. Today, after Windows Admin restarts the daemons, they just die
again.

As far as I know, Windows Admins have not changed anything on their end.
But, suddenly we are getting this strange behavior.

Has anybody seen or experienced this?
