Be default, bplist searches the current client for the files, trying adding
the "-C client" option. You also might add the "-R" flag and end the
command with "/".

bplist has the worst error messages of the bunch.

$ sudo bplist -C db.lodo -k Oracle_Redo
EXIT STATUS 227: no entity was found

$ sudo bplist -C db.lodo -k Oracle_Redo -R /
/u00/mmprod1/arch/prod1_45259.arc
/u00/mmprod1/arch/prod1_45260.arc
/u00/mmprod1/arch/prod1_45261.arc
/u00/mmprod1/arch/prod1_45258.arc

Here's the difference.

Mark,

The RMAN_Catalog is actualy a standard netbackup policy backing up a
filesystem containing the binaries and datafiles for our RMAN repository
database called "RCAT".....

Any others ideas?

TIA

Kev.

        RMAN contents are tracked by Oracle. There's no specific filelist
for these type of backups. Get your DBA's to write some SQL if you want to
see what RMAN backs-up.

        Hi all,

        Can anyone tell me why the command:

        bplist -k RMAN_Catalog -l

        returns an "Entity not found" error. RMAN_Catalog is a policy that
runs a few times each day but I cannot get bplist to list the files NBU has
backed up.

        Any ideas?
