Hi Len,

I was talking about the Netbackup server logs in particular bpdbm, bpsched,
bptm and bprd.

The client server is a Cobalt Raq3 which runs Linux 2.2 multitasking OS
unfortunately the server is a customers and I only have a standard password
so cannot check the log files or create directories to hold Veritas logs. As
can be seen from the bpsched log below, it basically just tells me the error
code but doesn't point to a possible cause.

I was hoping that someone may have had a similar experience and be able to
point me in the right direction as to possible causes before I contacted the
customer.

Cheers,

Steve.

Hello Steven

I have not seen the system error on Linux clients, but have seen same on
Windows.

You report no seeing anything in the logs to help with this problem. I
assume that you are talking about the netbackup server logs.

Did you find anything in the Linux logs or the netbackup Linux client logs?

What is the version of Linux?

len

error occurr ed)

Hi, a linux client has started failing backups in the last few days with the

status code 130 (system error occurred) I have checked the logs but they are

giving very little information.

Nothing has changed on either the Veritas Master or Media servers (all
running NBU 3.4.1 on HPUX)

And I don't believe any changes have been made to the client (though it's a
customer's server so I cannot be sure).

Has anyone else experienced this error and if so how did you resolve it?

Thanks in advance,

Steve.
