        Hi all,

There is no need to change DB information.

You can change Master Server Hostname like this :
bpmedia -movedb to move offsite logically all of your cartridges.
Modify bp.conf and vm.conf of all media-servers (master include)
Best of all : redefine all of your robotic/drive configuration (rm
/usr/openv/volmgr/database/[ltidevs-robotic_def-globDB]
vmglob -set_gdbhost "NewServerName" ( to all media-servers and master)
tpconfig to redefine all of your hardware
Modify bp.conf to include "FORCE_RESTORE_MEDIA_SERVER =3D fromhost =
tohost"
(Vrts Technote 230066)
Inventory robotic.
Restart Netbackup and test some restores. (Before don't forget to =
change
Storage Unit Name server)

Hope this help !!

Before all of this, keep a "good" backup of your master server in a =
good
place...

Regards

Fab

Officially, you can't change the name of the master server. It's too =
tighly
tied to info in the images DB. Unofficially, some have said they've =
done it
but when others have tried the same methods, damaged ensued.

The only way approved by Veritas to move images from one master server =
to
another (thereby changing the master server name) is to import the =
tapes
again.

I think Veritas consulting will also change the name for $$.

Sorry. I'm in the same boat.

Question:

How do you restore db/image files to a master server with a different
hostname? What is the process Veritas PS uses to change the image
header?

THANKS!

Kim
