I thinkyou only have one choice,
Delete all the bad code (or move to another location - much safer), and
restore the entire directory tree from the old backup. The RPM is a
problem. Can he pull the RPM and reinstall the v3 RPM? Otherwise, you'll
have to restore the binary directory & all the RPM database section, too
(can't remember off the top of my head where that is).
Do a restore with the overwrite, too (no "-K" flag on bprestore).
You'll have to identify all the code you need to rollback.
Might be easier to rebuild the webserver & just put the HTML/PHP back in
from backups.
Sorry - looks like a lot of work.

Howdy Mark,
I tried using that initially, but it does not delete anything that was
added.
ie....The developer installed rpm packages on his linux box (php4)
(mysql) and a new apache version. Problem is that the code the website
was written in (php3) crashed and burned when running with php4.
So, the developer wants to go back in time and have the unit the same
as it was a week ago. Using the -s & -e flag will only restore the files
the way they were, but if he added a rpm of php4, it will still be there.
At least that's what the developer is seeing when I used -s & -e.
Anyway around this. I didn't see a way to tell bprestore to remove any
files that are new or did I miss it?
Cheers and Thanks...James

Yup. The bprestore command has "-s" & "-e" flags for a start & end date
range.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Image Restore
Howdy,
I've done restores using both the gui and the command
line, but I have a system that needs to be a certain image
on a certain date.
A developer was working with a production apache, mysql,
& php linux box and it does not work. He want to restore
the image of the box on a specific date.
Can this be done on the command line?
Thanks...James
