We get that message too and it is always for drive index 3. I read that the
NO_TAPEALERT in /usr/openv/volmgr/database, plus the MP 3 for NBU 4.5
Solaris was supposed to fix that message if using library based cleaning,
but it failed to do so.

If you're doing library based cleaning you can disable Tape Alert within
NetBackup now (it's a newer feature) so NetBackup won't try to clean the
drives for you.
It's done with a touch file on each media server called NO_TAPEALERT and
goes in C:\Program Files\VERITAS\Volmgr\database or
/usr/openv/volmgr/database.

We have a StorTek L180 tape library connected to a Solaris 5.8 server
running NB 4.5 and Media Manager. The L180 is setup to do automatic
cleaning but I still get the message below a lot. What do I need to set in
NB to make it stop?
