I found the problem. The Netbackup server is in a different DNS domain than
most of the servers it backs up. (It is in the AD and they are not) We do
not specify machine names as fully qualified names. We use only the host
name (seemed best at the time but now with the merger it might be time to
rethink it.) The server sends the backup request as backupmaster. The logs
indicate they did a successful reverse lookup (???) The clients then
connected back to backupmaster.our.oldnt4.com.

Recently the server had an IP address change. Being as it is active
directory integrated it updated the Active Directory DNS automatically.
When we started the migration from NT 4 to AD (which is now stalled due to
the merger) we put entries in the old NT 4 DNS to point out the machines so
they could find it via only the host name with having to update the
configurations of all servers. The NT 4 DNS of course did not get updated.

So when they tried the connect back via the other domain name no connection
was possible with the IP change. Instead of reporting a real error the
clients apparently forced the connection closed and the master logged the
action as a 150. Weird.

Thanks to those who helped.

I seem to be suddenly having a large number of jobs
terminating with a 150 when I 'know' no one terminated them. Anyone
seen/fixed this before?

                Thanks
