But as charles pointed out, 3.4 is no longer supported, so his options are
to go 4.5 or to the latest Netbackup whenever it is released.

Could anyone provide a document or technote to state NBU 3.4 is not
supported on Windows 2003, because I am in the same boat as Charles - We
have been running with 3.4 for over a year now and are only just getting
involved with Windows 2000, but they are looking to jump to 2003.

Hello Charles

I was told that fp4 will support w2k3 with the old system state backup
method. That netbackup 5 will support the new vss system state backup.

Actually if you install NBU 4.5 on Windows 2003, you will get an error
message that NBU 4.5 is not compatible with this version of Windows.
However, you can IGNORE and continue installing. I haven't gotten much
further in my testing yet.

Hello:

I was curious as to what other mail list members have experienced backing up
Windows 2003 servers. I have been informed by Veritas that my NEW 3.4
environments are essentially useless now that MS released a new OS; Windows
2003 not supported. Does it seem reasonable to have to upgrade my massive
NetBackup environments just because MS has released a new OS. How often will
I have to do this?!

Thanks.
