Hi all
You are right, my bad - the media database not the Volume Database. The
GUID would be the unique id of the media. Can I label two pieces of media
with the same name via "bplabel"? How then does Net Backup tell them apart?
There must be some truly unique id on each piece of labeled media, right?
How would I get that unique name.

The volume database is on the master server so it's common to the two media
servers. Each media server has it's own media database but that's
different. Use labels such that no two are the same between media servers.
GUID? I don't recognize the acronym.
Almost everything you want to know about a given piece of media is available
from the "vmquery" command which queries the Vol DB on the master server.

Hi all,
So if I have two media servers and one master server and they each have
their own volume database, it is possible to get media with the same label.
Is it possible / how do I get the GUID for a given piece of media from the
command line?
Thanks,
Shannon
