The Vision conference this year is offering a "boot-camp" set of classes for
certification plus discounts on the test itself. It might be worth looking
into.

David,

Thanks a lot for your suggestion. Veritas Training, no doubt would be the
best bet to understand the product and pass the test but is a costly affair
for me. I was actually looking for a lean-mean no frills book, which just
cuts to the point.

I will get the books you have suggested, and practice with product...

Thanks again, your help is appreciated.
Rajeev

Rajeev:

I have not seen the CERT exams, so I do not know what they are asking. It
has
been suggested by others that the book Dave Little and I have just recently
completed (available in June) would be a good resource for the NBU exams,
but
again, I haven't seen the tests. Right now, this is the only "book" that
uses
NetBackup in the examples. Another terrific resource is Veritas Education,
the
course developers and instructors alike have worked very hard to develop a
quality course.

You may also find W. Curtis Preston's book, Unix Backup and Recovery,
published
by O'Reilly to be an excellent general purpose resource book for Backup.

As far as Volume Manager...I don't know of a book yet published on that
topic,
but I believe there is one in the works. However, I do know that VERITAS'
training is excellent. Many of the instructors are former Storage Admins
who
share real life experiences which is very helpful.

HTH

David
