Not feeding them fast enough? Check your buffer settings, make sure they're
large enough.

How 'bout getting the data to the media server? If you're feeding the media
server from a client connected by 10/100 LAN, that client can't supply more
than 10MB/sec, regardless of potential speed to the tape drive.

Okay here is the lay of the land..

Solaris 8

NBU 4.5

Lib STK L700, 5 7000 DLT drives and 4 9940B drives

Okay I have configured the 9940B drives into NBU.. I can write, Problem is
the performance is not much better than my DLT 7000 drives....

The 9940's are Fiber... I am running the latest and greatest drivers on the
fiber cards. With Veritas assistance got the system running at it's optimal
config.

All Setup files are correct and working.... And I can not find one piece of
info to explain "WHY" the drives are not writing in the high 20's or
better...

ANYONE with a thought or direction please let me know...

Thanks
