Thanks,
But whatever I try, I am unable to find out the name of my raw device list -
does anyone have a ADIC Scalar with 3 drives in and know the command to use
for NT.

Thanks

 << File: BDY.RTF >> What I've done is the following ...

bprecover -l -tpath "/dev/rmt/txcxdx" to list and use bprecover -r
-tpath "/dev/rmt/txcxdx" to recover.

Hello everyone
I am stuck now! I lost my Master Server - Luckily I have my catalogues
on 2
tapes.
I am going through the Troubleshooting guide and reinstalled Netbackup
again
(3.4 on NT 4 SP6a).
Applied J0850645 Jumbo patch

Have an ADIC Scalar 100 with 3 drives. I have placed my Media Catalogue
backups in 2 of these drives.

Trying to use bprecover with little success. The book tells me to use
the
RAW NAME of the devices and they give an example.

So I type the example in, and the tape drive starts to read the tape but
comes up with an error.....

"SPECIFIED MEDIA OR PATH DOES NOT CONTAIN A VALID NB DATABASE BACKUP
HEADER".

I know they do, because one of them was used for a catalogue backup.

It is possible I am using the wrong name of the drive, but I am not sure
how
I find out what the raw name is.

This is the command I am using...

Bprecover -l -tpath \\.\tape1 <\\.\tape1>

I would be grateful for any help - In the meantime I will continue to
read!
