Did you add REQUIRED_INTERFACE into your bp.conf?

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Backing up over private network

I added a second network interface to my Master Server
and one of my client machines. And connected them to a
10.10.30.0 network.

MachineA is the master, with the second interface set
to 10.10.30.100.

MachineB is the client with the second interface set
to 10.10.30.101.
I'm trying to force my NetBackup traffic over the
private network 10.10.30.0.

In MachineA's /etc/hosts file I have:
MachineA 48.10.12.5 #it's first interface
MachineB 10.10.30.101

In MachineB's /etc/hosts file I have:
MachineA 10.10.30.100
MachineB 48.10.12.6

When I start a backup, I see two tcp connections:

10.10.30.100.559 10.10.30.101.bpcd

and
10.10.30.100.568 48.10.12.6.995

The second connection starts with a syn from
10.10.30.101 to 48.10.12.6 followed by packets from
10.10.30.101 expecting the next packet in the tree way
handshake, which never comes.

It seems as though MachineB is resolving it's name for
MachineA, when the second connection starts.

Any ideas.
