Katerina,
Try doing this:
First load the tape into the drive. If it is a unix media server, type "dd
if=/dev/rmt/0 bs=1024 count=1 | strings" (note: for /dev/rmt, use the correct
tape device) and search for a label string of some sort. This will give you
the header information on the tape which includes the RVSN.
