Assuming you're doing Netbackup-based cleaning and not the L700's built-in
cleaning:

1. Eject the cleaning tape from the library via the mailslots
2. Move the barcode to the cleaning tape
3. Use vmchange to update the number of cleanings back to default (usually
20).

  (from the man page)
To Change a volume's number of mounts count or cleanings:

      /usr/openv/volmgr/bin/vmchange [-M master_server] [-h
           volume_database_host] -n num_mounts/cleanings -m media_id

4. Inject the tape back into the library.

You're ready to go.

-M

Ok, newbie question time....

I have a cleaning tape that needs to be replaced. What is the best way to
add the cleaning tape to my L700 library and make Veritas aware it's there?

In addition, I am in a position that I will need to re-use the old barcode
for the new tape, how does this complicate the process?

FYI, Solaris 6 Master Server running 3.4 with two L700 libraries SCSI
connected DTL7000 drives...
