You can exclude specific drives from OTM. This is in the Registry and can
be configured via the Admin Console in the client's properties. You'll
want to exclude the drives that Exchange uses.

Also, as mentioned below, you shouldn't be going after the Exchange data
during a file system backup (outside the agent) unless, of course, you are
doing a cold backup and the Exchange services are stopped.

Even if you're not trying to backup Exchange data with a normal backup,
depending on how OTM is configured, it may be doing a snapshot of all
drives. This is why you should either exclude these drives on all
snapshots (as mentioned above) or configure OTM to only snapshot drives
being backed up.

Most likely you do not want to have otm enabled on an Exchange Server.
If it is enabled you want to exchange the exchange data. In fact you want
to make sure that the backup client does not try to backup the exchange
data stores.

Should the OTM be enabled on the Exchange Client (NBU 4.5) with the
Exchange Agent loaded on the Exchange Server (NT4.0, Exchange 5.5, Media
Server). I am seeing the OTMAN4 activate in the Event Log, but is not
closing, and after a period of time the processors run up to 100% and the
box crawls. After a reboot the problem is resolved.
