I'm not even going to ask why you would want to break up a single 18gb
drive into 5 slices, that's your business....
Re-installing NBU will not give you browse capabilities for the data,
you have to have the catalogue for that. Make sure to do a catalogue
backup before blowing it all away. 'bpsyncinfo -doBackup' should do the
trick.
Once you have a good catalogue backup you can redo your disk and
re-install NBU however you want. Then restore the catalogue and you
should be good to go.

nb version 3.4
I have netbackup installed in /vendor/openv/
I need to repartition /vendor. It is currently a 18GB disk with
one partition on one disk. I need to create 5 partitions/slices. The way
I plan to do this is to use the format command. However if I use that
the netbackup install will be lost!
My questions are:
1. If I reinstall netbackup will I be able to get access to the
data on the tapes?
2. Is there a way to backup/save/export the policies?
3. Will a restore fail if the /vendor/ is not on the same size
partition anymore?
4. How do I do the above?
Assuming the answers to the above are positive. Are there any
problems if I upgrade the OS to solaris 8 before I reinstall?
