Harry - on the client, you can have a file in the path /usr/openv/netbackup/
that has a name of include_list or exclude_list. This is the file on the
client side which can contain file names of files to include or exclude. If
you want this to be global for all policies, just use include_list or
exclude_list. If you want the lists to be policy specific, add the policy
name to the end like this: include_list.policy_name. If you wish to have
it policy AND schedule specific, the file name will look like this:
include_list.policy_name.schedule_name. This file works for Master Server
initiated backups (automatic or manual backups), but does not get used on a
client initiated backup.
For a client initiated backup, you use the bpbackup command from the client
which requires either the list of files to be backed up listed on the
command line, or you can use the -f switch and specify a file that contains
the file list to use. The bpbackup command on the client does NOT look at
your include or exclude lists that I mentioned above. All of the parameters
for the bpbackup command should be documented somewhere in the admin guide
or on the Veritas site.
Hope this helps get you going.
