Hi All,
Does anyone know how to configure Vault 4.5 to eject several tapes when you
only have two MAP/CAP slots? - With my test vault policy it backs up the
catalog and then looks at the media used in the last say 14 hrs and dumps it
to a file. - If only 1 or 2 tapes are being ejected they are moved to the
MAP slots of the library and then my OFFSITE volume group is updated with
the ejected volumes and subsequently my reports run (Vault inventory list,
media coming on site list in this case). Ideal result.
IF however (and the most likely day - day case) several tapes are to be
ejected, my Vault policy fails with a status 1 and none of the media used is
moved to the OFFSITE volume group and only one (media to be removed list) of
my 3 reports will run.. - In my tests I've been using the Automatic eject/
automatic reports tabs - if I can?t do things this way how do I 'eject'
media from the robot - physically removing it and updating the inventory
doesn't do the trick either? it moved the removed tapes into a standalone
--- volume group.
If I reserve several slots inside my library, will Netbackup use these as
'ejection' slots!?
This environment is all Windows2000 sp3, NBU4.5 sp2 and latest Vault
patches.
Any thoughts, suggestions would be most welcome!
Regards,
Ray
