Compression runs after a netbackup session has completed. It shouldn't
kickoff in the middle of scheduled backup jobs. Per the 3.4 manual , "the
server performs compression after each backup session. The operation occurs
while the scheduler is expiring backups and before the execution of the
session_notify script and the backup of the NB catalogs."

Does anyone know...

If I modify the "Delay to Compress Database X days" field in the NetBackup
Configuration, is there a command to make NetBackup go through and do its
compressing immediately? I know that eventually it will decide to go
through the old images and compress them, but how can I say "do this now
when it's convenient for me instead of waiting around until you get off your
lazy tookus and decide to tie up the system at 6pm just as my backups are
starting"...?

Thanks,
