Kumar,
A SCSI parity error usually means a physical cable problem. The errors also
indicate that the drive is reducing the transfer rate which is probably
reducing your performance because of problems on your scsi bus. You had said
you had 6 drives daisy chained- I would first check the overall length of
the scsi chain and reduce it as much as possible, also check cable
connections, terminator, etc. Also 6 drives on one scsi chain\port\server is
probably going to be a bottleneck. If you cannot reduce the overall length
of the scsi chain I would terminate after the 2nd or 3rd drive in the chain
and see if you continue to get the errors. You will most likely need to
power down\up the servers to clear the scsi bus. If errors stop- get a
seperate cable for the next 3 drives and for best performace use a seperate
scsi card on a seperate bus, seperate system if possible- I'm not sure if
your overall configuration.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] 9740 with Netbackup 3.4
Hi,
I am getting these error after I configured 9740, drives are
9840 style, its got 6 drives and daisy chained with scsi. I don't see
this error on the boot but I see it right before the backup job
initiates from Netbackup (using Netbackup 3.4 on Solaris 7), has anyone
experienced anything like this. This is very weird and I don't know what
causing it.
