I finally realized that these entries were immediately after entries for
cleaning the image db and deleting expired images. I looked in the global
NBU settings and I had inadvertantly set up catalog compression. I disabled
catalog compression and the problems went away. I'll fight the compression
battle another day...

Subject: compression unlock failed
The environment: NBU 4.5GA MP2 on Win2K Svr SP3, 2 Win2K DC SP2 media
servers, STK 9840 drives on a SAN using SSO.
Has anybody ever seen this error message: Compression unlock 336 failed:
The handle is invalid. , (6)? There are lots of these messages from the
master server in the all log entries report, and there are several different
3-digit numbers after compression unlock (not just 336). I upgraded to 4.5
last night, and had just gotten all the problems ironed out when this
started. Stopping and restarting all NBU services didn't solve the problem,
but a reboot did.
Thanks,
Matt
