Environment: 6 SAN attached SSO servers (5 media, 1 dedicated master) all
running Windows 2000. Backing up over SAN through MDR to a Compaq 9326 tape
library, 16 DLT8000 drives. Running NBU Datacenter 3.4.1.

I had been working with Veritas to tune my NetBackup environment using
NUMBER_DATA_BUFFERS and SIZE_DATA_BUFFERS files. My tests included backing
up about 1.5 GB of data several times to get a baseline of about 4200
KB/sec. I was able to get that number up to 5600 KB/sec by using 256 as my
"number" and 524288 as my "size". Based upon my testing, I decided to copy
these tuning files to 2 of my media servers on Friday but received multiple
errors:

"Write of 524288 bytes indicated, only 393216 bytes were written"

There were subsequent error messages with 393217, 262144, 131072 as
subsequent bytes written. Following these messages I get a status 174, then
a final "Cannot read from media socket 520".

It appears that I will only be able to use 131072 as my maximum data buffer
size. None of my testing ever yielded a 174 error message and I hate to
keep getting them on live backups.

Any thoughts/input would be appreciated...
