First of all, a SCSI drive is an NDMP drive.  There is no difference between
tape drives used for NDMP and those used for legacy backup.  I think what
you are trying to do is restore a backup created using NDMP to a non-NDMP
server?

IF this is the case, then you should be able to, if you are using NetBackup
4.5.  In this case you can setup your server as an NDMP three way host, the
restore from a drive attached to this NBU server and re-direct to a local
drive.  Mind you, I haven't specifically tried it, but it should work.
