After reading Dean and Shyam's thread, I've modified perlvault to use
bidfiles. (I was struggling with the same issue.) perlvault builds a
list of images to be duplicated, sorts them by media id and by file
number, builds a bidfile per media id, and spawns a bpdupicate per
bidfile (up to the number of streams specified at the command line).
As you can see from the log below, the media isn't un-mounted and
re-mounted.
The new version of perlvault (using bidfiles) will be available in a few
hours. Look for perlvault-0.2.gz.
