On my E4500, running NetBackup 4.5 on Solaris 2.8, I made the following
changes:
added 262144 to /usr/openv/netbackup/db/config/SIZE_DATA_BUFFERS
added 32 to /usr/openv/netbackup/db/config/NUMBER_DATA_BUFFERS
Made the max shared memory 4 gig
/etc/systems
set shmsys:shminfo_shmmax=4294967295
On a media server with less memory, I set NUMBER_DATA_BUFFERS to 16.
I'm getting 2 times the throughput on normal backups and 3 times the
throughput on image duplication!
