Hi everybody,

i'm using Netbackup 3.4 GA on redaht 7.3 with a HP surestore Tape drive
with 2 DLT 8000 drives.

I'm actually experiencing a strange error. My backups were fine since i
tryed to backup an exchange server. Now, one of my drive is being downed
with media position error, on several medias assigned to the pool to
which my exchange server belong ( NB : i'm sure the physical tape
position is fine ). There are SCSI errors found in the /var/log/message
( you can see them below ).
In fact i don't know if it's a coincidence but i'de like to know if
someone experienced such a behaviour of Netbackup ? and if it's possible
that software issue can create hardware dysfunction and for sure how to
troubleshoot them ?

SCSI errors :

aoû 25 20:09:59 jupiter ltid[703]: Request for EVSN 000459 is being
rejected because it is in a DOWN drive
aoû 26 01:02:30 jupiter ltid[703]: Request for EVSN 000459 is being
rejected because it is in a DOWN drive
aoû 26 09:29:50 jupiter tldd[13326]: TLD(0) unload failed in io_open,
Erreur d'entrée/sortie[5]
aoû 26 09:29:50 jupiter tldd[805]: TLD(0) drive 1 (device 0) is being
DOWNED, status: Unable to SCSI unload drive
aoû 26 09:29:50 jupiter tldd[805]: Check integrity of the drive, drive
path, and media

Thanks for any hints.

Regards Emmanuel.
