Jerome,

Advanced Reporter was written to address the needs you specifically
expressed, and yes, you need a license to use it. All of our clients that
have purchased it, rave about it. Also, Veritas Vaulting Software might be
something you want to look into. It is also useful in getting a handle on
your tape usage.

Hope this helps,
Mike Willard

  Hello everyone,

I'm using NetBackup 3,4GA with a Solaris Master and media Server and a
L700 Library. I'd like to be able to list how many tapes are available and
how much data I'll be able to backup. I'm using 9840 drives with 20 Gb
cartriges that appear to be able to store between 20 Gb and 150 Gb (?) as
listed by bpimmedia. We're multiplexing up to 4 clients to a tape and I
don't really know how to list how much data from each client is on a tape.
Does Advanced Reporter help me do that and do I need a license to use it? Is
there a way to get a graph in order to estimate how many more tapes I'll
need depending on how many more data to backup I'll have.

  Thanks

  Jerome Bauwens
