Here is what I did to  fix this issue on my system: add NET_BUFFER_SZ in
your netbackup directory /usr/openv/netbackup/. Value that work on Solaris 8
is 65536. Default value is 32 for clients, master and media server. Tech
support recommended to change those values on clients to match value on the
master server. I found this unnecessary. And that is it. This fixed my
errors

Scenario: Solaris Master/Media Server and backing up Solaris and Win 2000
clients.
The customer's daily backups run successfully but the weekly and monthly
backups but fail with error 174 (media manager - system error occurred) on
Win 2000 clients. The error message just before the error 174 is: '
critical - attempted to write 0 gigabytes, 537321716 bytes, it is not a
multiple of 512.'
The Unix client backups run fine.
