What version and patch level of NB are you running for the server and
client ? 
I have the same thing happening with netware and windows 2000 clients
that are either NB341_3 level or vers 4.5. I haven't heard of this
happening with a unix client yet, but I know there is something wrong
with the other clients that Veritas keeps blaming on anything except
their own software. This is a problem that I've had for over three
months now and support hasn't come up with any useful suggestions.

I'm having a problem with an HP-UX client error'ing out with a status
41 every time a backup is attempted. This happens regardless of
whether
the backup takes place over the network, or the client becomes a media
server with SAN-attached DLT drives. I've added the following to the
bp.conf on the media server and client:

CLIENT_CONNECT_TIMEOUT = 3000
CLIENT_READ_TIMEOUT = 3000
BPSTART_TIMEOUT = 3000
BPEND_TIMEOUT = 3000
LOCKED_FILE_ACTION = SKIP

There are no issues with auto-negotiation and the client, media
server,
and master can all communicate via DNS. I have hundreds of clients and
media servers, many of them HP-UX 11x running the very same version of
Netbackup, that are fine.

Any help would be appreciated.
