Did you update the NB inventory after you added the tapes? See the
"vmupdate" command use the GUI?

If the tapes are "pending requests", vmoprcmd -d pr, then you'll have to
resubmit the request for the tapes to be used, vmoprcmd -resubmit <req_id>.

I didn't see this covered in the FAQs at Backup Central, so here goes:

environment:
NetBackup Datacenter 3.4.1
Sun U10 w/ Solaris 8
Spectralogic Bullfrog 10000 library

I'm restoring a file for a lUser. I use "bp" to initiate the restore action.
I
watch the progress logs and the reports->all logs with "bpadm". bpadm tells
me
that I need to add 3 tapes to my library for the restore. No problem. I add
them
and wait... and wait... and wait.

Anyone have any experience in this sort of thing and know about how long one

should wait for NetBackup to notice that I've already put the tapes into the

library and begin the restore? Would I be better off killing the restore and

start over?

I see the processes running using "bpps -a" but nothing happening in the
progress log. Even using "xnb" and the activity monitor I can't find any
detail
about the job.

Any info appreciated.

Thanks,

*Jason
