From what I have heard, all master/media servers have to be at 4.5,
if you upgrade any of them. Then beginning with 4.5 and above, you can have
mixed versions; but not with any server below version 4.5.

We are about to upgrade from Veritas NetBackup 3.4.1 patch 3.4.1_3 to
Veritas NetBackup 4.5. We have been informed that we can run our Master
Server at 4.5 and leave the Media Servers at 3.4.1. I know that with NBU
3.4.1 you could not run the the Master and Media servers at different patch
levels or version levels.
Has anyone done an upgrade of the Master and left the Media servers at
3.4.1?
