I have a new master server on solaris 8, nbu ver 3.4.1.

I am using a virtual IP addr (ge0:1)

when I do a vmoprcmd -d ds on the box I get 

>>failed sending request to vmd (69)<<

I created debug logs for vmd and found a little more info.

When I submit the command with -h it works

vmoprcmd -d ds -h NewMastName

when I add the uname in the vm.conf file, it works just fine.

any ideas?  is this just how it works?
