I am noticing that many of my jobs are running in the Activity Monitor with
but they hang and need to be killed manually. When I look at the detail of
the job, it shows that the job got as far as mounting the media and stopped.
When I got in this morning, most of the drives (12 of 16) were down, the
remainder were AVR.

This is a SAN (SSO) environment with a Compaq 9326 library. I have had
issues in the past where the SCSI id of the drive changes and I need adjust
the drive mappings in NBU, however I verified that all of my drives are
mapped correctly so I do not think that is my issue at this point (used
robtest to move tapes to drives and verified volumes appear in Device
Monitor).

I tried running a manual backup today (after killing my hung jobs from last
night) and it takes about 5-6 minutes for the tape to be mounted and then it
hangs as before at the mounting of the tape so I am fairly certain I have a
communication issue. Tapes usually mount within moments of starting the job
in NBU.

I know I am going to end up restarting the SAN/switches, etc. but I am
curious if anyone has seen this recently and can give some insight into a
possible solution, other than a full reboot. I am not in production at this
point, but will be shortly so I have some time to "play".
