Sounds like a permission problem where one method uses the Oracle user and
the other method uses the Admin user to perform the backup. Check for
setuids on the executables used by each method (ie. sapdba or brbackup ?)
and owner /  permissions of the /oracle/DEV/sapbackup directory and files
within.

Hi,

We're currently running Veritas NetBackup 4.5 in a Windows 2000 Advanced
Server master.
We are having problems with our SAP backups on an AIX 4.3.3 client. The
backups are 
successfully executed when run using Oracle's (version 8.1.6.32) sapdba
utility. But 
when the backups are scheduled through transaction code DB13 we get the
error below.

ERROR: can't open temp backup_file:
/oracle/DEV/sapbackup/.backint.files.1025243884.0

I checked Veritas' website for patches but I could'nt find one.

Any help will be greatky appreciated.
