The platform is not mentioned, but I do the following on HP-UX.

option 1:
Find or make the file vm.conf in your volmgr directory and enter the
following:
DO_NOT_EJECT_STANDALONE

option 2:
In your netbackup startup script, replace $LTID
with
/usr/openv/volmgr/bin/ltid -nsu

The above is an example. You would need to provide the appropriate path to
ltid on your system.
