My mystery keeps popping up, but I have more details now. For the second
weekend in a row, I now have some images on a single host failing with a
bpverify error:

INF - Verifying class user_data, schedule Differential-Inc
(gemini_1022392935),
media id 000027, created 05/25/2002 23:02:15.
INF - unexpected return value from db_FLISTreceive: invalid command usage
144
INF - Suspending the database compare because of database error.
INF - Verify of class user_data, schedule Differential-Inc
(gemini_1022392935)
failed, invalid command usage.

Nothing has changed in my veritas config in a year. Only in the last two
weeks has this popped up. I saw two occurrences a week ago, and now
three occurrences this weekend. My full backup of this host on friday
was fine, and verified successfully, but the next three days' incrementals
returned this error.

The troubleshooting guide suggests that error 141 is a software version
mismatch, but versions between master and media server are the same. I
dug a little deeper, and found a couple interesting log messages. The
bptm log on my media server indicates that the verify was done
successfully:

09:11:31 [12974] <2> bptm: INITIATING: -verify -c gemini -b
gemini_1022392935 -nounload -ru root -rclnt dante -rclnthostname dante
-everything
...
09:21:47 [12974] <4> read_backup: successfully read (verify) backup id
gemini_1022392935, copy 1, fragment 1, 2013760 Kbytes at 3277.615
Kbytes/sec

But the admin log shows a couple messages that I haven't seen elsewhere:

09:21:06 [10618] <16> get_adaptable_string: (4) network
read() error: Connection reset by peer (131)
09:21:06 [10618] <16> db_FLISTreceive: received: 5655 and sent: -3 do not
match
09:21:06 [10618] <2> getsockconnected: host=bueller service=bpdbm
address=158.104.100.15 protocol=tcp non-reserved port=13721
09:21:06 [10618] <16> read_db_files: unexpected return value from
db_FLISTreceive: invalid command usage 144

I think it all has something to do with this get_adaptable_string error,
but I'm not sure where to go from here. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
