Just a quick note that after a bpexpdate -d 0 -ev XXXXXX command, the tape
is erased of images but normally doesn't come available right away for
reuse. There's an occaisional process that will return tapes that are
deleted of images to available status. You can force the run of this with:

bpexpdate -deassignempty -ev XXXXXX

...after you do the "-d 0" part above.

You can then move the tape to whatever pool you wish.

Hello
Ok that is the method I was using, but I would like to "reuse them" again.
So do I only need to run BPEXPDATE once, then move the tape into my Scratch
Pool and that should make it available for use?

Hello Simon,

First you must expirate the media (I think you used the command bpexpdate -d
(date) -ev (mediaid), but then you must delete the media in order to "erase"
them from your media db.
By the way Full MPX means a full tape with multiple retensions, but MPX only
....
