KEYWORD in the backup ids UBAK file. The KEYWORD does not match the
database name of the auto schedule class.
eg.

KEYWORD dev1
FILES_FILE edid_cold_rman_1021428781_UBAK.f

The backup of database dev1 ran at the same time as edid and picked up the
edid class.

Another stream of another database backup started at exactly the same time,
but not another "auto" schedule. How did you prove that the names had got
swapped?

Check to see if you had another database backup start on the client at the
same time. We have seen where 2 backups start on the same client at the
same time and one of the classes picks up the name of the other backup for
the "daily" scheduled streams.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] RMAN / Oracle Backup Query

Dear all,

Normally our RMAN backups appear in the Job Monitor as a number of jobs,
i.e. one for each stream RMAN sends down to NetBackup. There will be one
job on schedule "auto", with a number of others on e.g. schedule "daily".
I notice for one database last night I only have the "auto" job record,
which completed successfully. The RMAN log looks OK as thought the job
completed successfully. I can't at the moment find any relevant errors in
the NetBackup logs and have no system messages e.g. for full filesystems.
Anybody got any ideas why this could have occurred? Can I trust the RMAN
backup?

thanks for any help,
Phil
