Are they in the correct pool for your duplicate? You may have to reassign
them to your scratchpool or to your duplication destination pool.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Unable to allocate new media for backup?

Hi,
I am trying to duplicate weekly backups to an offsite_weekly volume pool.
I have 12 tapes that are available with zero (0) data written to them.
These were recycled from previously duplicated offsite_weekly copies.

I get following error message:
unable to allocate new media for backup, storage unit has none available
(96)
Duplicate of backup id servername_1019401390 failed, unable to allocate new
media \
for backup, storage unit has none available (96).
Status = no images were successfully processed.

The following is typical of all of the tapes (via "available_media"
command):
vol media media robot robot robot ret size
exp tape
pool ID type type # slot level
MBytes date status
Offsite_Wkly C41872 8MM TL8 0 82 - 0
07/08/02 AVAILABLE
Offsite_Wkly C44148 8MM TL8 0 85 - 0
05/21/02 AVAILABLE

Any thoughts?

Robert
