You can back it up as a filesystem on the UNIX client but you have to be
sure to have "Cross NFS mountpoints" enabled on the class. You can also buy
an NDMP license for Netbackup if you want.

I had a few problems restoring to a NetApp 760. I think it was timing
issues from master-svr to unix client to Netapp but I never fully resolved
it. I was much faster and more reliable mounting the Netapp directly to the
master server and doing the restore that way. YMMV.

Hi,

I have a customer who has a IBM H80 (Unix) server that is attached to a
NetApps server.

May I know how I can backup the filer.

Let's say I have Unix Media server, can I just backup the IBM H80 (as the
NetApps is mounted on it) like a normal Unix client or do I need an NDMP
agent?

Pls kindly advice.

Regards,
ACC
