I did some backups on an HP-UX 11 media server (lahpcc02)having a DLT 4/48
library where the media is configured as dlt2, and I am attempting to restore to
my master (sunp03), which is a Solaris 2.6. I have 9840 robotic libraries on
this, but I only have a single stand-alone DLT7000 drive attached to my master,
which I would like to use for my restore (with manual mounts and drive assigns).
I added FORCE_RESTORE_MEDIA_SERVER = lahpcc02 sunp03, inserted the tape in the
DLT drive and tried the restore several times, expecting to see a pending
request in Device Manager, but none appeared. My storage unit is defined as dlt
so I added another storage unit and defined it as dlt2, but that did not work
either. I get the following in the restore log:

"Restore started Thu Apr 18 15:17:17 2002

15:17:19 (986779.xxx) Restore job id 986779 will require 1 image.
15:17:19 (986779.xxx) Media id 002043 is needed for the restore.

2002 = error requesting media (tpreq)

completed."

I see the following message in the problem report:

"error requesting media, TpErrno = Requested number of drives are not
configured"

By the way, I did not change the non-robotic volume group the media currently is
in.
My first question is: is this even possible? Can I restore a tape written on a
DLT 4000/8000 drive on a DLT7000 drive?

Anybody can help me on this ?

Thanks!
