Ok, here's my problem. I've followed everything in the guide
book, and there is no robotic path.
/dev/sg/c1t1l0: Tape (/dev/rmt/0): "QUANTUM DLT8000"
That's all sgscan puts up. No 'changer' entry, nothing.
I've installed the recommended st.conf entries for my drive:
"QUANTUM DLT8000", "Quantum DLT8000 Tape Drive (in st.conf)", "DLT8k-data";
DLT8k-data = 1,0x38,0,0x19639,4,0x1a,0x1b,0x41,0x41,3;
bash-2.03# mt status
Quantum DLT8000 Tape Drive (in st.conf) tape drive:
sense key(0x0)= No Additional Sense residual= 0 retries= 0
file no= 0 block no= 0
So it has the right st.conf entry.
I then run the commands listed in the:
"Configuring Robotic Controls" section of the Media Manager
config guide. Namely:
Installing the sg driver, building new st.conf, sg.links and
sg.conf files.
I've verified that the StorEdge L9 has separate SCSI id's
set on it, 0 for the drive, 1 for the controller, all on
a separate SCSI card.
Attempting to make my configuration do a inventory produces
the following to console:
Mar 28 14:28:44 xxxxxxxxx tldcd[12971]: TLD(0) key = 0x5,
asc = 0x25, ascq = 0x0, LOGICAL UNIT IS NOT SUPPORTED
Mar 28 14:28:44 xxxxxxxxx tldcd[12971]: TLD(0) Mode_sense
error, CHECK CONDITION
I've used tpconfig to do it by hand as well:
I setup the robot,
Currently defined robotics are:
TLD(0) robotic path = /dev/sg/c1t1l1, volume database host =
xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Setup the drive, and added it to the robot group,
Index DriveName DrivePath Type Multihost
Status
***** ********* ********** **** *********
******
0 StorEdgeL9 /dev/rmt/0cbn dlt No
UP
TLD(0) Definition DRIVE=1
Managing to get slightly different errors:
Mar 28 15:02:27 xxxxxxxxxxxx tldcd[2098]: TLD(0) key = 0x5, asc = 0x25,
ascq = 0x0, LOGICAL UNIT IS NOT SUPPORTED
Mar 28 15:02:27 xxxxxxxxxxxx tldcd[2098]: TLD(0) Mode_sense
error, CHECK CONDITION
Mar 28 15:02:28 xxxxxxxxxxxx tldd[2094]: TLD(0) unavailable:
initialization failed: Unable to sense robotic device
I'm stuck, and not sure where to go from here.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
