robtest doesn't care a whit about your st.conf settings when it comes
to tape motion. a sense key error like that is being caused by a
lower level problem of some sort:
-bad robotic component in the library (can you load/unload a tape
from the front panel? any warnings on the front panel?)
-bad SCSI component (do you see SCSI error in /var/adm/messages?)
in the path from E3500-->P7000
There is a slight chance that your P7000's firmware is at a level
that is incompatible with your particular version of NetBackup.
In any event, if I were you I'd talk to whoever supports your library...
