Hi,
You can do this with NetBackup 4.5 (still in Beta, but
hopefully to be released soon) with either Solaris or
WNT/W2K servers.
It is called "Remote NDMP".
Best wishes,

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Dump from a NetApp to a tape
drive attached to Solaris box using just NDMP?
You can backup a NetApp filer to a tape drive attached
to a Solaris box by
executing a dump string on the Filer. Something like:
"dump 0f sunhost:/dev/rmt/0n /vol/vol0"
So, if I can do that, can I also do a "dump" from the
Filer to a tape drive
attached to a Solaris box using an NDMP package like
Veritas? Not using an
NFS mount, just NDMP?
Thanks.
