Larry was kind enough to give me some information on retries. I'm wondering
if there's something strange in my configuration.
The behavior I see is that NetBackup retries rapid-fire - if I say "4
retries in 6 hours" it will try all four as fast as it can - usually in less
than 10 minutes.
I tried setting it to "1 retry in 1 hour". I set up a test with a 12 hour
window and I turned off the client's bpcd to make sure it failed. Window
opened at 9:20am it tried at 9:21, 9:24, 9:28, and 9:31 before finally
failing. The wakeup interval is 10 minutes.
I'm wondering
(a) why it only tried 4 times if I said 1 time every 1 hour (I'd expect 12
tries),
(b) why it tried 4 times in 11 minutes,
(c) how I can change it, and
(d) if these entries in the bp.conf I inherited play a role - I don't find
them mentioned in the sysadmin guide:
QUEUE_ON_ERROR
WAIT_IN_QUEUE
Neither have any values - they appear just as I showed. Anyone know what
they are?
Thanks all!
