[Veritas-bu] Tuning Netbackup
2001-11-23 14:14:29
On Veritas' site it says lower it to 1 second (1000) but on Sun's site it
says NEVER set this lower than 1 minute (60000).
I set ours to 1 minute and it did help clear up some retries we were having
on a nightly basis.

I just read through this document, and have a question.
One of the tuning items it suggests is lowering the TCP_TIME_WAIT_INTERVAL
(TCP_CLOSE_WAIT_INTERVAL). I am curious why lowering this value would help
the performance of NetBackup? Or why how it would adversly affect the system
by leaving it at the default 4 minute?
