[Veritas-bu] RE: (Veritas-bu) DLT 7000 firmware version

We have been running firmware version 106 successfully on DLT7000 for
the last two weeks.  Our Master/Media server is Windows 2000 Server at
service pack 2, NetBackup Data Center 3.4.1 at the 3.4.1-1 service pack.
Our library is a STK9740 with 10 drives.

We had a short discussion on that 2 days ago on this list. Look under
the subject "Media errors (status 83)".

In short - it seems that microcode 106 causes problems with the data
tapes, while it saves on the cleaning tapes. Obviously it is better to
waste some cleaning tapes (stay with the old microcode).

The subject is still checked with STK.
