Sound like the jobs per client is set to 2+ on system 1 and the default on
system 2 which is 1.

On NT it is in the CONFIGURATION application under "General" I think.  This
is a global setting for all clients.  This can also be set at the client
level in the same app on the "clients" tab.

I'm dealing with an interesting phenominon.  We've been backing up several
databases via RMAN to NetBackup 3.2 for quite some time.  We recently setup
a new box with 3.4 (orig, not upgrade) and moved jobs over.  Everything is
setup identically as to our other 3.2 servers.

Here's the interesting part thats driving my DBA's insane.  On our 3.2 box
(which is still in operation for fallback) when we start a Oracle job it
loads 2 tapes, one for each channel.  On the 3.4 box it loads one tape.
The activity monitor shows channel 2 as Queued and once it finishes with
chanel 1, it starts writting channel 2 to the same tape.
For some of our jobs this is really hurting us.

I've tried playing with MPX, turning it on then off (yes, in both the
schedual and the Storage Unit) and adjusting it several ways.  Theoretically
having MPX on would cause this phenominon, right?  Currently its turned off.
No matter what we do it makes no diff.  After each test I've been
deassigning the tape it used from its pool to keep NB from following the
trend of a previous backup.
Nothing realy changes.  I'm not sure what to look at next.  At the moment
our 3.2 and 3.4 servers are configured almost identically and the jobs runs
on two tapes on one, and one on the other.... still.

Here's the setup:
-Sun 420R
-ADIC 4 drive 80tape AIT library
-Netbackup 3.4
-Oracle 8.1.7 (on multiple clients)
- The clients are running 3.2 clients
